Frozen

The clock is ticking to see Frozen the Musical at Theatre Royal Drury Lane; this beautiful production closes in September after wowing audiences for years.  Ammonite are proud to have played an integral role in bringing this show to life, supporting the Video Designer Finn Ross since the first iteration in Denver 6 years ago.  Since then we have been the Technical Video Associates for versions on Broadway, Hamburg, Tokyo, the Australian Tour, the North American Tour and the Flagship London production.

The project included challenges such as complex projection mapping and large flown LED Screens, pre-rendered content and real-time notch media, but the final hurdle was integrating LED into scenery; after workshops looking at various techniques and styles, it was agreed that the Ice Legs and proscenium portal needed LED screens within the structures, and that these needed to follow the jagged organic edge profile of the cliff faces.  An off-the-shelf solution wasn’t available so Ammonite set about collaborating with Roe Visual to adapt their industry leading Black Pearl screen into a modular system that could be easily reconfigured, maintained and toured around the world.  Two years of engineering resulted in a product now seen on stages around the world, for which we couldn’t be prouder.

The video on Frozen The Musical is the true definition of team work, and was only possible because of the collaboration with Asher Robinson, Zach Peletz, Fray Studios & Ammonite Studios along with the technology partners at Brompton, Roe Visual and Disguise.
